Our series Mortal Glitch receives a new award, the award for “Best International Series” at the “Carballo Interplay” Digital Content Festival. This recognition is in addition to the awards received at Lima Web Fest (“Best Art Direction”) at Bilbao SeriesLand (“Best Special Effects”) and at the Rio Web Fest (“Best Children and Youth Series”)
“Mortal Glitch” is our first action and fantasy series produced exclusively for YouTube Originals. Premiered on September 2, 2020 on our flagship enchufe.tv channel, its first episode garnered more than 25 million views in less than a week.
And it was precisely thanks to its great reception, since “Mortal Glitch” became the second most watched series on YouTube in Latin America, which led it to be part of the official selection of one of the most important digital content festivals “Carballo Interplay” and compete alongside other great digital series and achieve recognition as the best international web series.
The festival “Carballo Interplay” was born in 2014 in Carballo, a town in the northwest of the province of Coruña-Spain, as the first webseries festival in Spain. From 2015, it became a digital content festival, always attentive to new languages, encompassing new proposals and ways of understanding the new narrative and audiovisual culture.
The festival took place from September 8 to 11 in the city of Carballo in person, and was also broadcast via streaming on all its platforms. This event was attended by great exponents in the field of digital content and “Mortal Glitch” is the first Ecuadorian series to be awarded this prize.

Throughout five episodes, Mortal Glitch tells the story of Iria (Antonella Valeriano), a non-playable character from the Hero’s Legend video game. This young woman is condemned to repeat her routine as a simple caretaker of “chanchopollos”, the farm animals of this game. But a glitch arrives in the town, killing the hero and his best friend. And no one can revive unless someone restarts the game. She takes on the challenge and decides to change her destiny to become a heroine.
In the company of Laín (Orlando Herrera) and Hermes (Diego Ulloa), Iria will acquire the necessary skills to complete all the levels, revive her friend and save her world. With the characteristic humor of enchufe.tv, this show particularly highlights the concept that ordinary people can do extraordinary things.
The production also features great talents such as Erika Russo, Juana Guarderas, Alejandro Cisneros, Gabriel Bauman, Christoph Bauman, Diego Naranjo, Raúl Santana, María Elena Mexia, Pilar Tordero, Alberto Rivera, among others.
