To Mark International Day against School Bullying, They Have Come Together to Share Their Personal Experiences and Send Their Support to Children in this Situation
School bullying is a real problem in Spanish classrooms. According to a Save the Children report, one in 10 students says they have suffered bullying and one in three admits to having attacked another student. That is why, to mark International Anti-Bullying Day, which is celebrated on May 2, 2btube’s youtubers have come together to share their personal experiences and advise children and young people who are suffering this situation.
I was beaten at school,” explains VanFunFun in this video. “In my case, it never got to physical abuse, but I did suffer quite harassing daily psychological abuse,” says Pink Hummingbird. The most extreme case, that of HachiLoveKawaii: «They all surrounded me and burned my hair.”
These are just some of the situations that are included in the video made by 2btube, but many youtubers from the network have published videos on their channels to support various anti-bullying campaigns or to tell in detail how they have suffered and faced bullying. Such has been the number of people involved in this initiative, that 2btube has published a playlist to collect all this content. Bullying experiences such as those suffered by Irina Cosmopolitan or Ana Flouflen, support shorts such as that of Sandía Al or even a story for the little ones created by Juguetes Marce y Ali, are some of the videos that can be found in this list.
«Our intention is to raise awareness about this problem. And we believe that our youtubers’ channels are the ideal medium for this, since their proximity means that the message really reaches their followers,” explains Bastian Manintveld, Executive President of 2btube.In this sense, in addition to the production of this collaborative video and the creation of the playlist on its channel, 2btube has made its youtubers aware of two initiatives that seek to end bullying. On the one hand, #NiPasoNiMePaso, a petition started by the Mateo y Andrea program from MegaStarFM on Change.org. On the other, #NoBullying, a campaign that emphasizes the figure of the “spectator, that boy or girl who with their laughter or silence unintentionally supports the bully. The youtubers of the network have not hesitated to join them.
