The digital environment draws a new scenario full of opportunities for millions of users around the world to have access to all kinds of knowledge. With that intention we have created DigitalizArte, an initiative promoted together with YouTube, Google Arts & Culture, and Fundación Alternativas.

The objective of the project is to promote the digitization of culture, through a training program that helps any person, institution or company to make themselves known and disseminate their area of knowledge through YouTube.

This training, without economic cost and in online format, was held between September and October 2022, lasting 7 weeks and combining theory and practice. The students have received professional classes live and deferred, following a training itinerary that has covered from the initial steps of how to open a YouTube channel and design the content strategy; to the professional use of this platform, going through production, recording and editing of videos. The production of all content has been carried out by 2btube.

In addition, of all the students, 16 have been winners of the DigitalizArte Scholarship, receiving personalized advice and specific activities from the 2btube teachers.

Course Ambassadors

Well-known content creators and institutions have also participated in the training program as ambassadors. Thanks to them, students have been able to see first-hand success stories. On the one hand, through videos with their advice, anecdotes and experiences in relation to the lessons that are addressed each week. And, on the other hand, through a weekly live in which the influencers have been available to students to answer their questions.

The ambassadors of the program are: Quantum Fracture, Marcos Alberca, RGB Escuela, La Hiperactina, Memorias de Pez, Estudio Katastrófico, Instituto de Física Teórica (IFT), Linguriosa, Fundación Juan March, Natalia Bliss, El Teatro Real, El Museo de Prado y la Sinfónica de Galicia.

Program Results

In addition to having 8,000 registered, all the materials of the program accumulate more than 45,000 views and 10,000 hours watched so far.

“The results of this first edition of DigitalizArte have far exceeded our expectations. Therefore, we are very proud to say that it is the largest online cultural training program that YouTube has launched, and it has been done from Spain”explained Pilar Sánchez, Strategic Manager of YouTube Spain and Portugal, during the closing event of the program.

The program closed, in style, with an event held at the Instituto Cervantes. Under the title “YouTube and the digitization of culture”, prominent figures such as Miquel Iceta, Minister of Culture and Sports; José Andrés Torres Mora, president of Acción Cultural Española; and Cristina Gallach, commissioner for the Alliance for the New Economy of Language, participated in the event.

In it, the trophies were also awarded to the winners of the DigitalizArte Scholarship, a recognition of their commitment to the program.

Although the course has already finished, all the materials and videos of the classes are available on the program website: www.programadigitalizarte.com
