April 29, 2021. According to SignalFire, more than 50 million people in the world – a figure almost equal to the entire Spanish population – consider themselves content creators, despite the fact that it is a profession that was born only 10 years ago. And, of these, more than 2 million could be considered professionals and make a living from their passion. It is the type of business that has grown most exponentially in recent years and is an aspiration for new generations, as shown by the surveys of the last 5 years “What do you want to be when you grow up?” from Adecco. 2btube, an agency specializing in reaching the online audience with audiovisual content creation and representation of influencers; has classified the profiles of Spanish creators into YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitch based on the number of followers and concludes that there are more than 134,000 creators with more than 1,000 followers in one of their accounts; more than 40,000 with more than 10,000 followers; more than 7,500 with more than 100,000 followers and 691 creators with more than one million followers. The data has been extracted from the Tubular Labs tool. According to this agency, when a content creator gets 100,000 followers in one of their profiles, it is considered that they reach the status of influencer and can professionally dedicate themselves to the creation of content, due to the income they can generate both from the monetization of their videos on these platforms, as well as from participation in advertising campaigns of advertisers or through funding from fans.
HOW TO MAKE MONEY WITH INFLUENCERS
“Currently there are many opportunities to generate income as an influencer or content creator; since the companies dedicated to this sector have multiplied and practically all digital platforms pay talents for the views that their content gets” explains Fabienne Fourquet, CEO of 2btube “We could distinguish 3 phases in the professional life of an influencer: they start monetizing their videos on the network where they publish them, continue working with advertisers and reach a point where they have become a business in themselves and go on to launch their own products or their own brand, without the need to work with advertisers”. These three stages and the ways to generate income that define the business behind influencers are explained by 2btube in this video published on their YouTube channel. It is made in collaboration with Ac2ality, a profile with more than 2.4 million followers on TikTok and which has recently signed an alliance with the agency so that it can publicize its brand and expand its content to other platforms such as YouTube or Twitch, as also explained in the video.
