To Help Raise Awareness among the Little Ones at Home During the Health Crisis, Green Family’s YouTube Channels are Launching a New Video to Learn how to Wash Their Hands to the Rhythm of the Music.
Behind every children’s song we know, behind every catchy rhythm, and behind every singing doll, the most important thing is awareness. The responsibility of children’s music composers is crucial. Alejo Stivel, artist, singer, composer, producer, and voice of the famous group Tequila, came to this conclusion a little less than a year ago.
“Music has to entertain and excite, but it also has to teach us something”. With this idea in mind, Stivel drew up a children’s project in his head that he has managed to shape thanks to 2btube, a media group specializing in connecting with young audiences and an expert in YouTube, both in representing talent and in producing videos and professionally managing channels on the platform. This project is called Green Family and it is a YouTube channel in Spanish and another in English for children from 0 to 4 years old. With almost 30 videos that combine original themes with covers of popular children’s songs, they have achieved more than 8 million views and more than 100,000 subscribers in the last 9 months. In addition, their songs can also be heard on Spotify (Spanish list / English list).
When we met Alejo Stivel, we were excited about the idea of being able to work on a channel of original music and responsible children’s content. There is an increasing demand for this type of video for children and it was necessary to create a channel that was committed to a moral and educational line that thought about the challenges facing today’s society,” explains Fabienne Fourquet, CEO of 2btube.
And the channel conceived by Stivel has very powerful values that are not usually integrated into the children’s content we are used to. Each song transmits messages of empathy, tolerance, sustainability and equality; and takes advantage of the immediate environment of the little ones to bring them closer to realities that they will face throughout their development. Even the name of the channel is governed by the same principles:
“We chose the name because green is a color that represents environmental values and family is what we love most and is closest to us at those ages,” explains Irina Aizencang, musical co-producer of the channel. “In addition, it is a family that is not marked by the man-woman binarity. Their clothing as if they were astronaut suits responds to that intention that a certain sex is not associated with each character.”
The working dynamic between the artist, his team and 2btube is simple: they choose the themes and propose opportunities among themselves. Alejo Stivel is the musical producer together with Irina Aizencang; and his team is in charge of the composition and recording of each of the songs. Once the musical production is finished, 2btube animates each song and takes care of the channel management, publishing and optimizing all the videos.
“When we have the musical part ready, we send it to 2btube. They make fabulous videos with great sensitivity, they always surprise us a lot because their illustrations perfectly transmit the message of our lyrics and the perfect balance between awareness and entertainment “, says Stivel.
And absolute awareness is the key to the channel, which does not underestimate the understanding capacity of the little ones. The producers are aware of the level of retention and evolution of minors.
According to Irina, “at those ages they are super permeable and we must be very clear that everything we teach them is our responsibility. We want to create awareness above all, but in addition to sending messages we seek to make it fun, to make it a game. We work hard to achieve what we know as playful awareness “.
A good example of this is the latest video published: “Wash Your Hands” on the Spanish channel and “Wash your hands” on the English channel, which have been made expressly because of the health crisis.
After successes such as “Robodance“or “Veggies are so cool”, the bilingual little astronauts of Green Family are thus put at the service of families to raise awareness and help in the fight against COVID-19. “Something as basic as washing your hands becomes a key gesture these days. We want to help parents so that they can turn the gesture into something playful, it is up to all of us to become aware and take responsibility “, admits Stivel. And Irina adds that “ We want to join and contribute our grain of sand, so we give accessibility in networks to useful content given the circumstances. We want washing hands to be part of everyone’s routine at home “.
Green Family has a wide range of musical styles: pop, rock, calypso, Latin rhythms, traditional Chinese music… On the channels you can find songs associated with specific temporal moments (“Good morning Mr. Sun”, “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Birthday”) and others linked to the first learning of the little ones (“The numbers”, “The colors” or “The alphabet”). In addition, the versions of popular songs are very successful on the channel, among which “Finger family” stands out with more than 6 million views; or “The wheels of the bus”, “La vaca Lola” and “Old Macdonald” that together exceed 700,000 visits.
