“God of War” was one of PlayStation’s key releases, a video game featuring the long-awaited return of Kratos after the original trilogy, which heralded a new beginning for the character, who is now a father and seems to have retired to a cold and hostile setting to forget his past.
Thus, the goal was to promote this title in a unique way, through a special campaign on their YouTube channel that would allow them to reach new audiences and, at the same time, connect with fans of the series so they could learn about the latest developments.
We developed a campaign alongside comedian, actor, and presenter Joaquín Reyes. With his unique humor and imitation style, Joaquín puts himself in the shoes of the video game's protagonist to tell us about his life story and, at the same time, and highlight the latest features included in the release, both in terms of gameplay and narrative. The video was scripted by Joaquín Reyes himself and produced by 2btube.
We also organized an influencer marketing campaign with dozens of gamer fans of the series to spread the word about the launch on their social media channels. We coordinated with the brand’s PR agency to launch a press release to increase the reach of the campaign.
The video currently has over 2.6 million views and 100,000 likes, ranking among the top 10 most viral videos on the PlayStation Spain YouTube channel.
An hour after its publication, the campaign was already a trending topic on X(Twitter), and in less than a week, it surpassed 1 million views, garnered over 53,000 likes, 2,500 comments, and 50,000 shares. Furthermore, the video was featured in in YouTube's "Trending" tab for four days.
Creativity was the cornerstone of this production, which, combined with 2btube's professional management of the channel and the awareness generated by both the media and gaming influencers, was the keys to the campaign's success.
